Meet Annie
A Life of Multicultural Understanding and Compassionate Care
My name is Annie Plenge. I am 43 years old, married, and the mother of three wonderful children, ages 11, 8, and 5.
Before becoming a mom, I worked for over six years in schools, initially as a teacher. As I continued my academic development, I transitioned into the counseling department, working in various schools and eventually joining a major psychological center in Peru.
During those six years of school work, I also completed two master’s programs: one in Family and Counseling, and the other in Psychological and Educational Intervention at the University of Navarra.
In 2013, I became pregnant with my first daughter and, with my husband’s support, decided to open my private practice. I started with just a few clients—families who trusted me and gave me the opportunity to grow. Thanks to them, my practice flourished, and my work began to speak for itself. What started quietly soon expanded, attracting clients of all ages.
While working in Peru, I began to incorporate cooking into emotional support as a therapeutic tool. This approach proved effective in helping clients regulate emotions and anxiety, enhance flexibility, address sensory processing challenges, and improve communication skills, among other benefits.
In 2020, my family and I embarked on a new chapter by moving to Switzerland. It hasn’t been easy—quite the opposite. But after a couple of years, things have significantly improved. We are still learning to “surf the wave”—sometimes riding high, and other times simply floating along—but we are moving forward.
For the past three years, I have been working for Foundations for Learning in Switzerland, providing counseling services to private schools. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges posed by cultural and language differences.
My primary focus has always been on the family—whether navigating a divorce, coping with grief, or simply striving to build healthy relationships with themselves and one another.
I believe in creating a holistic support network for each individual.
Through teamwork, I help build a path that focuses on the well-being and emotional growth of every child and family member.
In addition to my counseling work and writing, I love baking with, and for my kids.
I am also certified as an English teacher by the University of Cambridge, which allows me to bring a linguistic dimension to my practice.
I offer services in English, Spanish, and intermediate-level German.
